privacy
this is secret, whisper, shadow
this is pure, untainted by human need
the all too human desire to touch and own,
this is protection when all the world has torn
you through with its jagged teeth of greed
this is solitude when prophecy is strong
when prediction means watch, wait, enfold
when promise creeps in closer to the soul
when the purpose of vows are to forgive
what cannot be undone
the way of the hermit, the steps of the
pilgrim, the muse of the sage
gone to bone, perfumed by the light
from the last eternal star
worn for the duration
pressed into memory
owned by no one
devoured with grace

You use powerful language intimately - the impact of this poem is like a prayer, whispered.
'privacy' reaches the heart, reaches deep and brings up thought that searches and remembers. Wonderful.
Privacy is a human intimate need that people seem to not desire as much these days as maybe they should.
"this is secret, whisper, shadow" ought to be "devoured with grace" and not be plastered on the cover of some magazines for money. I like that you have given privacy a place as a human need in our world. Thank you for sharing this meaningful poem, Wendy. It was an inspired use of the "P" prompt!
Hi Wendy,
This is indeed a peaceful, contemplative poem. I enjoyed reading it very much.
liked this :)
Thank you for all of your thoughts! I am still figuring out how this jumping from blog to blog works!
